Otoplasty (Ear Pinning): 10-Year-Old Patient
Procedure: Otoplasty
Patient: 10-year-old female
Post-operative view: 6 weeks
This young patient came to our practice with prominent ears that stood out from the sides of her head. She had been teased at school and was self-conscious about their appearance. Her goals were to improve the contour of her ears and bring them closer to her head.
Otoplasty was performed to reshape the ear cartilage and set the ears back into a more natural position.
At 6 weeks after surgery, the photos show:
- – Improved ear position, with the ears resting closer to the head
- – Better definition of the cartilage detail
- – Improved symmetry between the two ears
The ears now blend naturally with her features, and attention is drawn to her face rather than her ears.
Results vary from patient to patient. Photos are shown with the patient’s permission. Eyes have been blurred to protect privacy
